Authentication
Every MBALI piece is entered in the Origin Register before it leaves the atelier. The register is how a piece is verified, now and in twenty years.
What is recorded
The piece serial, struck on the reverse of the seal; the Hide Origin ID of the material it was cut from, with its source region, date and lawful-source reference; the tannery; the maker; and the date the piece was released.
Verifying a piece
Send the serial, or a photograph of the reverse of the seal, to clientservices@houseofmbali.com. We will confirm the register entry in writing.
We do not authenticate pieces from other houses, and we cannot value a piece for insurance or resale.
Transfer of ownership
If a piece changes hands, the register entry can be transferred so that the new owner can continue to verify it and to use the restoration service. Both parties should write to Client Services.
